Overview

オレンジスパイニクラブ (Orange Spiny Club, nicknamed Oresupa) is a four-piece male rock band formed in 2012 and hailing from Kitaibaraki, Ibaraki Prefecture. They were formerly known as The ドーテーズ. They are managed by Primitive and signed to Warner Music Japan. The members are Suzuki Yusuke (vocals, guitar), Suzuki Naoto (guitar, backing vocals), Yukki (bass, backing vocals) and Yurito (drums). The brothers Yusuke and Naoto write the songs together, while Yukki also directs music videos for the band and for SuU.

Career

• 2012: Formed as ザ・童貞ズ, starting out in Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture. In 2013 guitarist DJ☆TAIKI left and drummer Suzuki Naoto switched to guitar.
• 2014: Drummer Yurito joined in April, and the band renamed itself The ドーテーズ around summer.
• 2015: Released their first full album 『衝撃』 in January and played a two-man show with 「レモン汁。」 at Club Sonic Iwaki.
• 2017: Released the album 『under20』 in February after all members turned 20, with release events in Tokyo, Ibaraki and Fukushima. Yurito left in April and rejoined in September 2018.
• 2019: Renamed Orange Spiny Club in January and released the first single 『敏感少女』. The second single 『モザイク』 followed in August with a release tour.
• 2020: Released the first mini album 『イラつくときはいつだって』 in January. The track 「キンモクセイ」 became popular through streaming and TikTok, topping Billboard JAPAN's Heatseekers Songs for three consecutive weeks. A no-audience live stream followed in July, and the mini album 『非日常』 in November.
• 2021: Held a one-man tour in March and released their major-label debut album 『アンメジャラブル』 in October. In December "7997" became the ending theme of the drama 『#居酒屋新幹線』, the band's first tie-up (released digitally in January 2022).
• 2022: A re-recorded 「みょーじ」 became the January theme of the morning show 『スッキリ』. They released 『君のいる方へ』 in June and 「タイムトラベルメロン」, the ending theme of 『真相は耳の中』, in October.
• 2023: Released digital singles including 『パピコ』, 『レイジーモーニング』, 『ハルによろしく』 and 『洒落』, then the major second album 『Crop』 in September, followed by the tour 『見えないものに愛を』.
• 2024: 「六号線」 was the ending theme of 『ハコビヤ』 in January. Their first regular radio show began in May, the third mini album 『生活なんて』 came in July, the collaboration single 『Step!!!!!』 with Kubota Kai in September, and 『献立』 in December. A one-man tour ran from November to December.
• 2025: Held the 13th-anniversary event 「ザ・ベスト20 Vol.2」 in February. 「正体」 became the theme of a Fuji TV special drama, followed by 『ノーバイブ』 in May and the fourth mini album 『ナイフ』 in September. In October they performed on terrestrial TV for the first time on 「あのちゃんの電電電波♪」, and in December the bonus CD 『夏服』 was released digitally.
• 2026: 「blur」 became the opening theme of 『マトリと狂犬』 in January. In February they were named Kitaibaraki City Furusato Ambassador, and in May 「口」 became their first film tie-up as an inspired song for 『口に関するアンケート』. The major third full album 『好きにしろ』 arrived in September, with the one-man tour 「Do you like me?」 starting in October.

Musical style

A rock band whose songs are co-written by Suzuki Yusuke and Suzuki Naoto. After 「キンモクセイ」 spread through streaming and TikTok, tie-ups with dramas and a film have carried their music to a wider audience.
