Noa (乃紫)

Overview

Noa (乃紫, read "Noa") is a Japanese singer-songwriter born in 2000, represented by the agency MR8 and not affiliated with a label. She self-produces every aspect of her work: lyrics, composition, arrangement, vocals and artwork. Her 2024 song "Any Angle" (全方向美少女) topped the TikTok Weekly Top chart for two consecutive weeks, and in 2025 she was selected for Spotify's "RADAR: Early Noise 2025".

Career

As a child Noa studied piano and violin and played her parents' acoustic guitar as a hobby. At university an acquaintance let her try the DTM software Logic, which drew her deeply into composing. Her full-fledged music career began in 2023, and she signed with MR8 the same year. She first performed under the all-caps stage name NOA before also adopting her current kanji-based name.

In January 2024 "Any Angle" became popular on TikTok. She reached #23 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 Composers chart, #31 on the Artist 100 chart and #24 on the Hot 100 Lyricists chart. On 25 April 2024 she held her first solo concert at WWW in Shibuya, Tokyo, and later that year held another show, Noa 2nd One Man Live. She also released "Color of Our Destiny" (縁色反応) and "Don't Stare at Me for 8 Seconds" (恋の8秒ルール) that year.

"恋の8秒ルール" was released as a single on 27 November 2024. In 2025 she followed with a steady stream of singles: "ヒロインになるまでは" (22 January), "バレンタイン決戦" (31 January), "銃口をハートに向けて" (26 March) and its acoustic version (2 April), "ピンク・パンチ" (16 April), "1000日間" (23 April), "透明の楽譜" (23 May), "夏とあんたが嫌いです" (18 June), "口説いてヴィーナス" (4 July), "Shaking My Head" (9 July), "ベーシスト" (24 September) and "プラチナ・キス" (19 November). In January 2026 she released "メガネを外して" (14 January) and "メガネを外して (OPver)" (28 January).

Musical Style

In an interview with music journalist Tomonori Shiba, Noa cited Sheena Ringo, Tokyo Jihen and Radwimps as influences. Her work is J-pop, and she handles lyrics, composition, arrangement, vocals and artwork herself.
