Overview

ぼっちぼろまる (BOTCHI BOROMARU) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and virtual YouTuber signed to FUNSUI, a label under Sony Music Labels. Centered on YouTube, the artist releases songs and videos and also performs live shows and in-person events. Botchi Boromaru describes themself as an "extraterrestrial life form who carries out artist activities, including writing lyrics and music, as a lonely rock band of one." Their work spans anime music and J-pop.

The breakout song "Otose Thunder" (おとせサンダー) became popular mainly through TikTok and passed 300 million views. Videos using the song reached 700,000 posts in a month, with searches exceeding 600,000, topping the monthly ranking, and it ranked No. 1 on Billboard's annual TikTok chart.

• 2018: Performed at Crahs presents "IDOBATA 'hangout' 2018" (October 20) and Monoclogue presents "Monofes '18" (December 20).
• 2021: Activities with business friend ヲタきち continued until this year. Held "ALONES LIVE TOUR 2021" from July 31 to August 23.
• 2022: Rescheduled date of the "ALONES Oneman Live Tour 2021" (February 25), the three-man live "REAL" presented by Diamond Lily (March 19), and the one-day solo live "Boromaru no Hi" (June 25). "Asobo Marching Song" (アソボー行進曲) was used in a PlayStation CM introducing notable fall/winter 2022 titles. Appeared as a radio guest on "Einstein Yamazaki Hirona Heat&Heart!" on December 4.
• 2023: Released the single "Halo" (ハロ) on December 13, the opening theme of the anime "Pokémon," performed as yama × Botchi Boromaru. They appeared on "Ohasta" on December 22. It peaked at No. 34 on the Oricon chart.
• 2024: Performed "ハロ" on the "Pokémon New Year Special" (January 5) and "Pokemon to Doko Iku!?" (January 7). Released "魔法ぽい" (January 25), then "鎌倉STYLE" and "つよがるガール" in July. "つよがるガール feat. Mossa (Nekuraitalkie)" peaked at No. 38 on Oricon.
• 2025: Released "NE-CHU-SHOW" (January), "猫のレコード" (February) and "タタリダンス" (July). Radio guest appearances included "A&G Media Station FUN MORE TUNE" (February 1), "Heat&Heart!" (February 2) and "Hanako Akiyama Hiroki's Recomen!" (August 5). Released the album "ぼっちのミックステープA" (October 5), singles "桜風" (October 14) and "さよならグリーンデイズ" (November 5), and the album "COMICAL" (December 3).

Musical Style

Botchi Boromaru writes their own lyrics and music, and has created numerous anime songs, including for "Pokémon" and the Jump manga "3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei." Catchy tracks well suited to spreading on TikTok and a broad range across anime and J-pop define the artist's work.
