About

Chinozo

Overview

Chinozo (ちのぞー) is a Japanese Vocaloid producer and songwriter, best known for "Goodbye Sengen", "Shamer" ("Schema"), and "Elite". "Goodbye Sengen" became the most-viewed Vocaloid song on YouTube and the first Vocaloid song to pass 100 million views.

Career

Chinozo is originally from the Kansai region and began playing guitar at 15. He is known as a guitarist with band experience.

He began releasing music as a Vocaloid producer on Niconico in August 2018. His debut work, "Natsunaru Sekai", has since been deleted, so the oldest surviving upload is his third work, "Ginga Shoujo". He started uploading to YouTube on March 15, 2019.

On April 13, 2020, he released the music video for "Goodbye Sengen", followed by its digital release on April 24. From early 2021, TikTok videos using the song spread widely and greatly expanded his popularity; it topped the Billboard Japan Heatseekers Songs chart dated June 2, 2021, his first number one.

On April 20, 2021, he launched the gaming commentary channel "Havoc Channel" with fellow producers Chiitana and Kesumaru. On June 5, 2021, he began activities as the unit niKu with "Kanade" and "Gacha", formed through a fan vote in the "NEO INTERNET MUSIC" (N.I.M) project.

On August 12, 2021, "Goodbye Sengen" became the most-viewed Vocaloid song on YouTube, and on July 27, 2022 it became the first Vocaloid song to surpass 100 million views. It now has over 140 million views.

On March 5, 2025, Chinozo formed a new unit, Uchuu Pilot ("Space Pilot"), with singer Yoru, releasing music videos for "Raze Me" and "Muchuu" on YouTube that day. From August 14 to 20, 2025, a pop-up shop for "Chinokko", a recurring character in his music videos, was held at Laforet Harajuku in Tokyo, selling plush toys, card folders, and more; he also held an autograph session there on August 16.
