About

FRUITS ZIPPER

Overview

FRUITS ZIPPER is a seven-member Japanese girl group formed in 2022 and signed to Asobisystem. Affectionately known to fans as "Furuppa," the group emerged from KAWAII LAB., a project Asobisystem launched in 2022, and is produced by Misa Kimura, a former Zipper magazine model and the project's general producer (and former leader of Musubizm). The name combines "FRUIT," meaning to bear fruit, with "ZIP," meaning to give energy. Their second digital single, "Watashi no Ichiban Kawaii Tokoro" (April 2022), became a TikTok hit, passing 3 billion total TikTok plays by March 2025 and 200 million streams by February 2026. They won Best New Artist at the 65th Japan Record Awards.

FRUITS ZIPPER specializes in bright, cheerful idol pop built around the "KAWAII" concept, with catchy, energetic songs well suited to spreading on TikTok and other social media. Their steady stream of digital singles, collaborations with artists such as TUBE, and participation in a Seiko Matsuda tribute album ("Aoi Sangoshō") show a broadening range of activity.
