Personality and Background

His stage name comes from Mei, a character in "My Neighbor Totoro", which happened to be on TV while he was choosing a name. He likes shrimp and other crustaceans, sushi, ramen and meat, and sometimes makes ramen from scratch, noodles included. In YouTube cooking segments he takes charge, and he has a cooking series called "Meychan Shokudo". He once worked as a vendor at Seibu Dome. He is known for remarkable strength, scoring 197,931 kg on a punching machine and bending a frying pan bare-handed, and was on his high school track team, though he is not good at dancing. He was a fan of Gero, queuing at Comiket and attending his concerts, and now works alongside him.

Musical Style

Starting as a "utaite" (cover singer) on Niconico, he expanded into original work as a Vocaloid producer writing his own lyrics and music, developing a singer-songwriter profile.
